- Telangana Health Minister said earlier he will be the first to take vaccine shot
- Etela Rajender opted out of Vaccine in last minute
Hyderabad: Etela Rajender, Telangana Health Minister, announced a few days back that he will be first one to be inoculated with COVID 19 vaccine. But he opted out in the last minute and said will not undergo immunisation process. There were already doubts in people about the efficacy and safety of the vaccines. U turn by Rajender surprised everyone and we tried to find out the reason for his change in mind.
Nothing much to think about it, it is all due to the instructions from PMO to Etela Rajender as per sources. The Prime Minister Office (PMO) stated that all political leaders should not be the first ones to take the shots. Frontline Health workers should be given priority first, even if political leaders aim to inspire citizens on vaccine safety, they should wait for the turn until Health workers were inoculated, PMO said. This is the reason Rajender opted out with a gesture.
Even in Haryana, MPs and MLAs wantef to take part in first phase along with Health Ministers of various states. But PMO clearly hinted that first priority will be given to the Health experts and frontline workers and after that elderly people above 50 years of age in the first phase and those who are suffering with seriousness illness and elderly people in second phase.
