AP Covid updates: No deaths on Saturday

  • Cases reduced in Andhra Pradesh
  • Vaccination process success
  • CM Jagan inaugurated programme at GGH

Amaravati: For the first time in past few months, AP recorded zero death cases of Covid in a day. AP recorded 114 positive cases in last 24 hrs with total 1987 active cases. AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated Covid vaccination programme at GGH in Vijayawada. First shot was given to municipal worker Kirshnamma, who looked happy after vaccination.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched vaccination programme, the roll out started in 3000 session sites across India in 332 locations. This number will be increased in coming days to cover all health facilities in AP State. In 15 days, first phase of vaccine rollout is expected to complete with Health care workers as top priority. Second dose will be administered after a gap of 28 days.

AP State received 4.7 lakh doses of Covishield and 20,000 doses of Covaxin, for 33,200 health workers, 2324 staff would be working to inoculate supervised by a team of doctors.100 beneficiaries will be vaccinated every day at every site. Messages were sent through SMS to beneficiaries and at every location, vaccinating room, waiting room and observation rooms were allotted.

Union Government strictly passed a note that pregnant women and youngsters aged below 18 years should not be vaccinated. Covid guidelines should be followed during vaccination. As of now, first day of largest vaccination roll out programme went on well across country.
