Hyderabad: The secret meeting of BJP leaders with Etala Rajender at the latter’s farm house on Monday night raises questions about saffron party wooing him. As per reliable sources, BJP leaders Bhupender Yadav, Kishna Reddy and Bandi Sanjay had met Rajender and held talks for more than 2 hours. During the meet, BJP leaders welcomed Etala into BJP, but the decision was kept pending by former Minister.

After Etala’s episode in TRS party, State BJP leaders maintained silence for a few weeks. Except TBJP President Bandi Sanjay, no other leader came forward with criticism against Rajender, one way or other. Even the silence is questioned by senior BJP leaders in the party, but at that time saffron leaders felt it was purely an internal matter of TRS.

But when news spread that Rajender is ready to launch a new political party in coming days, BJP leaders started wooing the senior BC leader into their party. BJP felt that, if Rajender joins saffron, it will be a big game changer for it in Telangana and can fight against TRS on stronger footing. The party is also expecting that backward communities will come forward to support BJP in future. TBJP President Bandi Sanjay ,who is also a BC leader from Karimnagar district is fighting by all means against the ruling party. If he joins hands with Rajender, they make a formidable combination to help the party to come to power, felt a senior leader from Karimnagar.

But Rajender did not respond to the invitation extended by the senior BJP leaders. Etala’s ideology is entirely different to that of saffron party. His brought up was in left ideology and the possibilities of the former minister agreeing to join the BJP are meagre. Aravind, an MP from Nizamabad also invited Rajender into party a few days back. It is time for transformational politics in Telangana. One has to wait and watch.
