- Announces paadayatra from August 9th
- To cover 750kms in 55 days
- Will expose corruption and will restore democracy, says TBJP President
Hyderabad: It’s TBJP President Bandi Sanjay, first to start the political game with paadayaatra which will commence from August 9th in Hyderabad. There were speculations that newly elected TPCC President Revanth Reddy and Sharmila of YSRTP will also start yatra very soon in coming days, but Bandi grabbed opportunity to stand first in the race and came out with date and route map of his paadayaatra which was announced on Monday at BJP Headquarters.
According to Bandi, The yaatra’s main intention is to end the rule of corruption and irregularities in State and to dethrone family rule and restore democracy. He chose August 9th as the date, which is marked with launch of Quit India movement by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942. The first phase of paadayaatra will end at Huzurabad on October 2nd, another milestone date in history, which is Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi. Bandi Sanjay further stated that his yatra is an inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi who forced British to leave India and also the need for a battle for democratic rule in Telangana.
The yaatra will start from Bhagyalakshmi Temple of Old city and will continue in a low profile fashion with participants sleeping in tents and without any much publicity campaign. The first phase will be 750 kms in 55 days with an average of 15 to 20 kms per day. It will cover Ranga Reddy, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak districts passing through Chevella.
