According to Bandi, The yaatra’s main intention is to end the rule of corruption and irregularities in State and to dethrone family rule and restore democracy. He chose August 9th as the date, which is marked with launch of Quit India movement by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942. The first phase of paadayaatra will end at Huzurabad on October 2nd, another milestone date in history, which is Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi. Bandi Sanjay further stated that his yatra is an inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi who forced British to leave India and also the need for a battle for democratic rule in Telangana.
