Amravati: It is well known that Narasapur YCP MP Raghurama krishnam Raju was arrested on Friday afternoon in Hyderabad by AP CID cops. The way CID officials handled the MP’s arrest attracted huge criticism in political circles. Visuals telecasted by electronic media clearly showed that MP was lifted and pushed into a car (INNOVA). Opposition parties came in support to the MP’s family members and condemned the arrest of Raghu Rama. Congress, TDP, CPI leaders said it is a clear cut vendetta by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and the manner police arrested him was not acceptable. Is this the way to arrest a person who is a Member of Parliament? Is this the way to arrest a person who had heart surgery a few days ago? On what charges he was arrested, questioned opposition parties.

To counter all the above questions, AP CID released the following note:
“Honourable Member of Parliament from Narasapur constituency Shri Raghurama Krishnam Raju has been arrested at his residence at Hyderabad. There was information against Sri Raju, stating that he has been indulging in hate speeches against certain communities and promoting disaffection against the Government. A preliminary inquiry has been ordered by ADG CID PV Sunil Kumar, IPS. In the enquiry, it was found that through his speeches on regular basis Mr.Raju was indulging in systematic, schematic, effort to cause tensions among the communities and by attacking various government dignitaries in a way which will cause loss of faith in the government which they represent. His speeches and actions (are intended) to spread hatred and contempt against the government of the state by deliberate actions. Series of attempts have been made to this affect. There is hate speech against communities and social groups also which was used to foment social and public disorder and create disturbances in conspiracy with few media channels.

“In the backdrop of all these things, a case was registered on the orders of P.V. Sunil Kumar, IPS, ADG CID under sections 124(A), 153(A), 505(R/W), 120(B) IPC and an arrest was made.”
