AP TDP president Atchannaidu arrested, Nimmada Tense

  • Case filed for preventing YCP candidate from filing nomination
  • Arrested few hours before YCP MP Vijaya Sai visit
  • TDP President Naidu alleges political vendetta

Srikakulam: Tense situation prevailed after police arrested AP TDP President and MLA Atchhan Naidu for preventing YCP candidate from filing nomination as sarpanch in Nimmada. Atchhan naidu was shifted to Kotabommali PS after he was arrested. As per police sources, TDP leaders attacked Kinjarapu Appanna, who decided to contest as sarpanch from YCP for upcoming Gram Panchayat elections.The home village of Kinjarapu family turned tense when 20 TDP activists tried to attack Appanna’s house. They blocked Appanna from coming out of his house to file nomination. However, police entered the scene and helped Appanna file nomination.

Before Appanna moved from house to file nomination, TDP President Atchhan Naidu made threatening call asking him to desist from filing, as per police case. Appanna did not respond positively to Atchhan Naidu’s call and said that his wife lost job during TDP regime and his family was thrown out without any benefits during previous Government. He decided to go ahead as Sarpanch candidate from YCP.

Naidu cries foul :
TDP President Chandrababu Naidu said that it is political vendetta and it has nothing to do with Atchhan Naidu. This government is trying to create terror atmosphere in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and vishakapatnam districts. In the last 40 years, Nimmada has never faced such type of tense situation. How many cases this Government will file against Atchhan Naidu? Naidu expressed his anguish. He demanded that Atchhan should be released immediately and unconditionally.
YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy will visit Nimmada in a few hours to interact with Appanna’s family members and give confidence. Police were deployed in huge number at Nimmada as a preventive measure.
