Hyderabad : Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani who has demitted office of chairman, TS PSC, on Thursday, said he has introduced a lot of reforms in the process of selection of candidates to fill the job vacancies. The first chairman of the TSPSC said he had run the commission on transparent lines and allegation-free recruitment process.
Filling more than 35 thousand jobs major achievement
Prof. Chakrapani claimed that filling up 35,724 posts was his major achievement during the last six years he has been holding the apex office. He said the persons who got the job through recruitment commented that they never imagined that jobs could be obtained without paying bribes. “Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao (KCR) had told me at the time of appointment that there would be absolutely no pressure from the government. He asked me not to entertain any politician and make selection on merit. No politician of either ruling party or opposition had the guts to step into our office,” said the professor.
Entire data digitised
He said the main challenge before him when he took up the assignment was creating the organization in the new State. Till now the TSPSC had conducted 365 examinations and 48,90 lakh applications have been received. The entire data has been digitized and there is no scope for any manipulation. “We fulfilled the aspirations of the youngsters by notifying 36,758 vacancies in 108 notifications and almost completed the process of selection.
Showcased TSPSC for country
Prof. Chakrapani said he was successful in showcasing TSPSC as a role model for the whole country. There was cases against the Commission but there was not a single allegation of corruption. The apex court had commented that TSPSC had conducted the examinations in the best possible way. “Abolishing interview (which had marks) part of recruitment was historic reform to instill confidence among the candidates,” said Chakrapani.
