Justice Hima Kohli, sworn in as CJI of Telangana HC

  • First woman Chief Justice for Telangana
  • Sworn in at Rajbhavan in presence of Guv Tamilsai
  • Earlier she was a judge of Delhi High Court

Hyderabad: Justice Hima kohli became the first woman Chief Justice of Telangana after she took oath at Rajbhavan on Thursday.  Telangana Governor Tamilsai Soundarrajan administered the oath where Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao was also present.

Earlier Chief of Telangana High Court Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan was transferred to Uttarakhand High Court. Hima Kohli is the only woman CJI out of 25 courts in India. On Dec 31st, Union Ministry of Law notified the appointment of Justice Kohli.

Delhi born Hima Kohli completed her BA (Hons) in History from St.Stephen’s college and PG from Delhi University. She did her law at the campus of DU.

Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman G. Sukhender Reddy, Deputy CM Mohammad Mahamood Ali,  other ministers attended the ceremony.
