TS CJ is Justice Hima Kohli, For AP it is Justice Goswamy

Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chouhan has confirmed on Wednesday that he is under transfer to Uttarakhand and those who have cases in the court have to wait for the new Chief Justice to come and take over. Justice Goswami is being appointed as the chief justice of AP High Court in place of Justice Maheswari.

According to the speculation in the media, TS High Court is getting its first woman chief justice in Hima Kohli. TS has already a woman Governor.  Another woman taking over a senior constitutional position in Hyderabad is something unprecedented. Hima Kohli was appointed as additional justice in Delhi High Court on 29 May 2006. Her job was made permanent in 2007. Now she is being promoted as a chief justice. Hima was born on 2 September 1959 in Delhi. She started her practice as a lawyer in Delhi High Court in 1984. She was appearing in Supreme Court for the Delhi government.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court is also going to have a new chief justice according to the decisions reportedly made by the Supreme Court collegiums. Chief Justice JK Maheswari is being transferred to as chief justice of Sikkim High Court. In his place Justice Goswamy who was appointed as additional justice in Guwahati High Court since 2011 and was elevated as acting chief justice. He was made  chief  justice of Sikkim High Court  on 15 October 2019  was appointed as AP chief justice.  Justice Maheswari has been working as chief justice of AP since 7 October 2019. For Telangana High Court Justice R. S. Chouhan was the second chief justice.

The recommendations of the collegium are sent to the prime minister who in turn sends them to the President for his approval. The department of justice will release a gazette notification from which time the decisions would come into effect.
