  • No single vote shall go out… BJP candidate must win as GHMC Mayor
  • A Jana Sena – BJP coordination committee to be formed
  • Kishan Reddy, Laxman hold a two-hour-long meeting with  Pawan Kalyan

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party has to win the Greater Hyderabad Municipal (GHMC) elections in Hyderabad which is developing as a universal city for which Jana Sena Party will extend its solidarity, Janasena president Pawan Kalyan has announced. The candidates are withdrawing from the contest in the GHMC elections because of wide public interest of Hyderabad city and Telangana State, he said. Union Minister of State for Home  G Kishan Reddy and BJP OBC Morcha national president Dr K Laxman convened a meeting on Friday afternoon with Pawan Kalyan and Party Political Affairs Committee Chairman Sri Nadendla Manohar and discussed working together in the GHMC elections. The deliberations were held at the residence of Sri Nadendla Manohar for two hours.

Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan said “strong leadership is necessary when Hyderabad is growing as a universal city. Facilities of international standards have to reach the people of Hyderabad city. The Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi who has a broader perspective will provide support in the development of the city. Heavy floods inundated the city especially during the critical times of Corona. People of the city have faced many hardships and people have also witnessed how the state government failed miserably. It is known clearly how the people had their trust in the leadership of Sri Modi with the results in Bihar elections and Dubbaka by-elections.

Election schedule announced suddenly

“Jana Sena and BJP have decided to discuss over the GHMC elections and election schedule has been announced within no time. There is some ambiguity to some extent over the contest in the elections in the two parties. However, we kept (away) because of wide public interest of Hyderabad city and Telangana State development. I have a long acquaintance with Dr Laxman and Union Minister of State for Home Sri Kishan Reddy. We have an extensive discussion with both the leaders. Anticipating wide public interest, we have decided not to contest in the GHMC elections and we work together even in the future.

“We have a cadre who worked with me since 2008 and similarly there is the cadre who worked in the party in 2014 and 2019 elections. They thought of contesting in the GHMC elections and they may be disappointed to some extent. But, we have decided with a broader perspective. There shall not be any divisional (divisive) politics. We want strong leadership keeping in view the welfare of the city people and their safety. The system shall not have any scope for the religious and regional division.  In the process, Jana Sena Party will extend its solidarity for the victory of BJP candidate as GHMC Mayor. No single vote shall go out and I request the candidates those who already filed their nomination papers to withdraw from the contest. Dr Laxman is monitoring the responsibilities of the campaign committee. Though he has many responsibilities, Sri Kishan Reddy is paying special attention to the elections. We will move forward with coordination both parties to work together in the election process. Extend your support and I am also participating in the campaign.”

Party Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar said “the BJP Central leadership is holding deliberations for the past two days over the GHMC elections issue. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to them. Senior leader Dr Laxman and my friend Sri Kishan Reddy have been paying special focus on the issue. An action plan will be chalked out for both parties to work together and the meeting has decided to prepare a road map by instituting a coordination committee. We will move forward to ensure strong leadership and administration to the people even in the future.”

Responded with great heart: Dr. Laxman

BJP OBC Morcha national president Dr K Laxman said “It is widely known how the people strongly believing in the leadership of Sri Narendra Modi after the results in Bihar elections and Dubbaka by-elections. We have discussed widely with Jana Sena Party President Sri Pawan Kalyan and party PAC Chairman Sri Nadendla Manohar on behalf of BJP Telangana unit along with Union Minister of State for Home Sri Kishan Reddy for Jana Sena support in the GHMC elections. We have requested them to take part in the process of elections by extending their support. The city has to develop manifold to ensure world-class growth and it is possible only with the BJP under the leadership of Sri Modi. Sri Pawan Kalyan also believes in it. He responded with good at heart and a big heart to extend his solidarity to us. We thank him for the support.”

“We also shared our view with State party leadership and we appeal to them accordingly. Sri Pawan Kalyan and his party workers have extended their services during the times of Corona catastrophe and floods. I thank Sri Pawan Kalyan on state party behalf and my behalf,” he said. “We hold a meeting to work together in the GHMC elections and sought complete support to BJP and we extend our gratitude for responding positively,” Kishan Reddy said.
