English was introduced in India by Macaulay not only to create clerks for English officers but to subjugate Indians by destroying their cultural superiority. Today we are as good as native speakers of English. Presently we dominate the world as Software Engineers with our knowledge of English.

Light at the end of the tunnel
Education all over the world is in native language. Because we can’t have a common acceptable language we are continuing English as the link language. But comprehension of subjects is far better in native tongue. So education must be through the medium of mother tongue in primary and Secondary levels. It can be so in Higher education too when we create translating machines and digital libraries. That is likely to happen in near future. With the New Education Policy there is light at the end of the tunnel.

English medium is brainless activity
A point to note is 85% of Engineering graduates cannot write a letter in English in spite of their study through English medium from LKGÂ to PG. People who wish to go to non-English countries learn the necessary language by studying it for 6-9 months. We have been studying English for so many years, but in recent decades, in a wrong way. Instead of setting it right having English medium is a brainless, useless activity. Lot of exposure to language with focus on words is the way to learn any language.
