  • Will Modi – Shah magic Work this time?

Kolkata:  West Bengal BJP has prepared the roadmap for the Assembly elections in 2021. Prime Minister  Narendra Modi will address cadre virtually on 22 October 2020, which happens to be sixth day of Dussera, called ‘Durga Shasthi” to accelerate election campaign.

Amith Shah in action

Central Home Minister Amit Shah, who recovered from carona virus,  will visit North West Bengal on 17 October to address party cadre. Battle for Bengal will be led by Shah who is keen on bringing down Mamata Banerjee government  and hoist the saffron flag in Bengal. His strategy worked during Lok Sabha which helped BJP win 18 seat surprising  political pundits.  The BJP leaders believe that Modi majic coupled with the central welfare schemes will help them to get the crown in 2021. At the same time, the  party knows well that Assembly election mainly depends upon local factors rather than Central leaders or national issues. BJP will fight in the elections without projecting  a CM’s face as they did in 2016. They started ‘Save Democracy’ campaign against Trinamool Congress (TMC) and expect the carry it forward till elections.

TMC Confident of hat-trick

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is confident that history would repeat itself once again and Bengal voters will keep TMC on top chair. “BJP is a bigger pandemic than Covid which should be thrown away from Bengal,” Mamata observed. “There is no CM’s candidate from BJP and Bengal voters won’t cast vote by seeing central leaders and believe in gimmicks played by Modi and Shah, “ Mamata further added. “Our Didi is Banga Janani, guarding entire state from everything, no leaders from UP or Gujarat can harm her or defeat her, TMC will win and show a new direction to the country”, the TMC cadre keep saying.  Party won three assemblies by-polls which show that still Mamatha is strong in the state. Election strategist Prashanth Kishore is guiding TMC to score hat-trick by winning next elections.

Fight between TMC and BJP

The fight for 2021 assembly elections will be mainly between the TMC and the BJP. The image of the Congress and the Communist parties got bruised in the last six years with their vote banks being shared by the TMC and the BJP. There was a lot of bloodshed in Bengal with the killings political leaders and cadre. Law and order situation in the state will be one of the main issues of the election campaign.
