Andhra Born Manga Anantamula in race for US Congress

Hyderabad: Manga Anantamula who is from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, completed her schooling in Chennai and graduation  from Agra University before leaving  for the US. The first Indian origin candidate from Virginia State for US House of Representatives of  Republican party, 2020, felt that she will win over the socialist views spread by Democrats. She came into limelight when she raised her voice on discrimination showed during admissions of Asians in IV League schools.

Anantamula felt that this time large Indian Democrats are turning towards Republicans due to positive policies being  implemented by Trump.

Wants to be a voice, not noise

Anantamula said she wants to be voice of the community, particularly of the Hindu Americans. She also said her campaign mainly runs on the platform of reducing taxes, equal rights for women, helping the growth of small and medium business and affordable healthcare, as per her personal website.

She is a strong supporter of Indian PM Narendra Modi. She supported India’s stand on Kashmir, Article 370, Ram Temple in Ayodhya and recently enacted Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). She is fighting against a tall, six time incumbent congressman Gerry Connolly but she is confident of victory this time. She felt that India and US should fight jointly against terrorism.

When questioned about recent changes and ban of H1 Visas  by Trump, she said ‘The time of decisions    should be taken into consideration. The whole world is under pandemic attack including India.  Unemployment must be taken into account and American workers must be protected’ She replied.
