Hyderabad: BJP, Jana Sena leaders spoke in support of the Narasapuram MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju on Saturday. Jana Sena condemned the arrest of MP at a time when the State is fighting against Covid pandemic. Jana Sena advised Jagan Mohan Reddy Government to focus on protecting Covid patients as the cases are booming and people have to be rescued in this crisis. It is an indiscriminate arrest on the grounds that he was a frequent critic of the government and not a justification at all, Jana Sena felt.

Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan’s press statement says, “Corona –infected people are finding it difficult to find beds in hospitals, oxygen cylinders and Remdisiver injections are moving to black market. It is better that the entire machinery of Government is focused on the sufferings of the people. It is undemocratic to make arrests using police forces at this time. The episodes of ambulances stranded at AP-Telangana borders were sad and thanks to Telangana High Court for intervening and solving the issue. The YCP government needs to inform the people of the rationale behind the arrest of its own party MP at such a critical time when people are in deep trouble. Cases are being reported all over the state and people are living in fear. So, Jana Sena is appealing to the government to focus on helping patients with oxygen, and providing them medicines and hospital beds. Jana Sena demands that political repression can be curtailed for some time to come”

What about attacking judiciary, questions Purandeswari
BJP party’s National General Secretary and women leader Purandeswari also reacted on the issue. “Raghurama Krishnam Raju was arrested on charges of defaming the state government. We need to know how many leaders of the same party have been arrested for speaking out not only to tarnish the image but also to insult the judiciary” Purandeswari remarked.

TBJP President Bandi Sanjay expressed anguish on the way MP was arrested. He has undergone heart surgery a few months ago and AP police treatment was inhuman. How can they arrest without Lok Sabha speaker’s permission? How AP Government allowed them without following protocol, Bandi questioned.
