Parents want their children to lead a better life. So they send them to good schools. Middle class parents believe education is the only means of living. So they are ready even to sacrifice some of their comforts for the education of their children. When the child is with the parents he understands how the parents toil for his future. Thereby his emotional bond with the parents is strengthened. Further he comes to know how his parents manage different things and behave with people. That paves way for his future social life. But when the child is separated from the parents and is made to live elsewhere the emotional trauma he undergoes is irreparable. Further, the emotional bond between the parents and the boy gets weakened. His unguided life leads to incompatibility with others. Sending children to Residential schools at a very young age is one of the reasons for the growth in the number of old age homes today. Parents are elated with the ‘Grades’ of their children but they are not realizing the weakening of emotional life of the child which is important for the happiness of everybody. A life without emotion may be helpful in earning money but it is a crippled life emotionally, morally and spiritually. Only a negligible percentage of people are able to balance both emotional and income getting aspects of life satisfactorily today.
