- Orange Alert Declared by IMD
- 56% More Rainfall when compared to Last Year
Hyderabad: Telangana State is gripped with heavy rainfall due to depression in Bay of Bengal disrupting normal life across the state. CM KCR urged people to stay alert for next 48 to 72 hrs as there might be flood-like situation with water logging across the State.
Orders imposing restrictions on the movement have been issued on low level bridges for traffic and pedestrians by CS. District collectors and police were cautioned to take precautionary steps, to identify Rehabilitation centres with availability of basic amenities.
Major steps were taken by the government like transport facility to shift the people of low level areas, and to tackle with food emergency. All projects/dams are full and heavy inflow is expected in next three days due to the rainfall and the govt. has asked people to take proper steps to avoid problems.
Heavy rains forecast on 13th and 14th
According to IMD, heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightening is expected on 13th and 14th October and warned people not to come outside without unavoidbale reason.
Due to the unexpected heavy rainfall, life in Hyderabad has been totally disrupted with traffic jams, collapsing buildings and manholes flooding. This is the highest rainfall in the decade for Hyderabad as per IMD which is a significantly witnessed across all districts of Telangana from past 3 days.
Orange alert was announced by IMD for Telangana with warn of thunderstorms with lightening, electricity failure and flood conditions.
Farmers worried of Crop
There is a heavy loss for farmers due to this unseasonal rainfall with damage to the crop. Same incident happened in the month of April giving loss to paddy, maize crops for the farmers due to heavy rainfall. Hope Government will come up with an ex gratia for the farmers sectors.
