Anyone who owns 200 yards plot would have to pay Rs. 50,000 and the amount increased sharply as the plot size increased, a retired district registration office Vishnuvardhan Raju told The Hindu.  He said it was strange that 14 % additional fee was imposed where land was not left vacant for civic purposes. “Will the government provide that land now,” Raju asked.
