Tollywood Drugs Case: SIT says allegations against film stars baseless

  • Calvin selling drugs since 2013
  • Calvin’s statement on celebrities not credible, says SIT
  • Film stars’ names meant to mislead, says SIT
  • SIT Files charge sheet in Ranga Reddy Court against Calvin

Hyderabad: SIT gave clean chit to film celebrities whose names were involved in drugs case and filed charge sheet against the prime accused Calvin in Ranga Reddy court on Monday.

SIT strongly felt that Calvin’s allegations against film celebrities were baseless and he used their  names just to sideline the investigation process. SIT submitted movie stars trail investigation report in the court.

Calvin tried to flee from kitchen

Calvin tried to flee through kitchen while conducting search on his day of arrest, SIT said. Calvin became addicted to drugs while studying in Mangalore. He used to smuggle drugs from abroad to Goa through dark web. He has been selling drugs since 2013, used to take orders through mails and WhatsApp. He did not disclose any address or other key details during the investigation. His friends Nischay and Ravikiran were arrested and got key evidences and proof of their involvement. Kelvin used to supply drugs for students, techies and the names of movie stars were meant to mislead.

We gave notices to many people based on Calvin’s statements  but there was not enough evidence to support the allegations made against celebrities or film stars, SIT further clarified in charge sheet filed in Ranga Reddy court.

Kelvin’s statements are not credible and can’t be taken as evidence and could not include someone  as accused basing on his allegations. Puri Jagannadh and Tarun had also given bio samples voluntarily and the forensic lab had found that  there were no traces of drugs in their samples. The Excise Department did not include the names of movie stars in the list of accused and the witnesses.
