National Doctor’s Day is celebrated on July 1st every year in India with this year’s theme was “Celebrating Resilience and Healing Hands”. They wished to celebrate the medical professionals that worked hard through the difficult times faced due to the pandemic. They celebrated to recognise the contributions of doctors and medical professionals towards society. It also aims to create awareness about the importance of doctors, their selfless service, and the valuable role they play in improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities.

The birth anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal is the ‘National Doctor’s Day’. Dr. Roy was born on July 1, 1882, and he dedicated his life to the medical profession, making significant contributions to the field of healthcare and public health. It was birth anniversary. He was a prominent figure in the medical field, and serves as a platform for discussions and activities that aim to enhance healthcare services and promote a healthier nation.

National Doctor’s Day is a significant observance in India that celebrates the contributions of doctors and medical professionals. It recognises the immense value they bring to society and acknowledges the sacrifices they make in improving the health and well-being of individuals.

Thomas Edison says: “The doctor of the future will give no medication but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and in the cause and prevention of disease”.

“The physician must be able to tell the antecedents, know the present, and foretell the future — must mediate these things, and have two special objects in view with regard to disease, namely, to do good or to do no harm,” explained Hippocrates.
