Out of 15 new ministers 11 are of cabinet rank while the rest four are ministers of state. Sachin Pilot had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi exclusively before the cabinet reshuffle.
Earlier there were confabulations between Sonia Gandhi, Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, KC Venugopal, Ajay Makan and others for two days before the cabinet reshuffle was finalized. Pilot would be accommodated at the national level for party work. The pre-condition set by Gehlot was that Sachin should be taken out of the State for him to reshuffle the cabinet and accommodate leaders whose loyalty is with the younger leader. Rahul Gandhi is abroad.
