Shreyas Iyar and Ravichandran Ashwin held their nerve to help India grab a win from the jaws of defeat at Mirpur. Ultimately India won the match and the two-match series at the end of Bangladesh tour. India had mixed results earlier when they won T20 match series but lost One Day Internationals. Chasing a not so high a target of 145 runs on Sunday morning, India which started the fourth day with four wickets gone lost some more quick wickets to Mehidy Hasan Mirza and shakib Al Hasan who were at their devastating best. Sreyas and Ashwin stitched a 71-run partnership for the eighth wicket and took the Indian team to victory by three wickets. Axar Patel who took three wickets in Bangladesh second innings hit 34 valuable runs for India. It was remarkable of Ashwin, the aged and experienced spinner, who batted so well when India needed to make runs in face of tight bowling. Shreyas was his usual best. Both the Tamils showed cool temperament and chose right balls to make runs. When Ashwin was on one, he was dropped by Bangladesh fielder standing very close to the wicket. Had the fielder held the catch which was not very difficult, the match perhaps would have gone the other way. The Lady Luck favoured India.
