Former Cricketer V.V.S. Laxman to join BJP

Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman seems to be ready to make an entry into politics. BJP national leaders are said to have already held talks with Laxman and Amit Shah gave green signal for the cricketer, claims BJP sources. On the other hand many cricketers across the country are already in the BJP.

The BJP, which is aiming to come to power in Telangana, has decided to include Laxman, who has considerable fan following, in the party. It is learnt  that Laxman has also given the green signal to join the BJP. Laxman will soon be wearing the BJP scarf in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The BJP high command hopes to field Laxman from a constituency under the GHMC. The BJP will soon make an official statement on Laxman’s joining.

Laxman bade farewell to international cricket in 2012. He then captained the IPL franchise Deccan Chargers. He is currently the mentor for the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. At the same time, he also acts as a presenter for a sports channel. Laxman is right now in Dubai enjoying as a commentator for T 20 World Cup.
