- KCR to turn 67, cadre plans for a big event at LB stadium
- CM silent on request of the cadre and party leaders
- Will KCR elevate his son, KTR, as chief minister on that day?
Hyderabad: KCR is in news once again, but this time with the celebration plans by party leaders on the eve of his 67th birthday on Feb 17th. As per sources, ministers, MLAs and party cadre want to organise mega birthday bash for their leader, Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao, on that day. For this, they have submitted applications to Sports Authority of TS (SATS) for permission to use LB Stadium. TRS Government completed two years of the second term and the party wants to come into public with this mega celebration and the party leaders are requesting CM to allow them to celebrate and shower their love and affection towards him.
It is at Pragati Bhavan every year :
Every year, KCR has been celebrating his birthday at Pragathi Bhavan. He did not so far give his nod to the party leaders’ request for holding this year’s birthday celebrations in a grand way at LB stadium. Jalavihar on necklace road is also gearing up for CM’s birthday celebrations, and the final decision on the venue will depend on KCR.
Will KCR handover mantle to KTR?
There is a special significance to the upcoming KCR’s birthday with speculations that he has decided to handover mantle to his son, KTR. This was denied by KTR and Rajya Sabha MP K.Kesavara Rao recently, but the echoes and whispers are still making rounds in Pragathi Bhavan circles and among the people of Telangana. KTR said that the health of the chief minister is fine and he is fit like fiddle and there is no need to replace him at this point in time. He described the news as mere rumours. But KTR is considered number two in the party and in the government. He holds the portfolios of IT, Industry and Municipal administration and urban development.
Will he, will not he?
Now this birthday of KCR has gained significance after the talk by TRS ministers and leaders that KTR has all qualifications to become CM, next to KCR. Sources say, KCR may at least leave a hint on Feb 17th about this news.
‘Pattabhiskekham (coronation)’ may take place after completion of ‘Yadadri Temple’ and inauguration of new Secretariat building complex and which might take time till the year end, key aides of KCR say. Now the party is occupied with elections for two MLC seats, Nagarjunasagar by-poll. The party should emerge victorious if KTR should be anointed CM.
