An Inspiring Teacher

Mrs. Saraswati is an inspiring teacher. She is affectionate and takes good care of us all. She wants us to be the best in everything we do. She asks us to develop good character. Her behaviour is so gentle that we all like to follow her. She is well mannered and treats everyone with love and respect. Her voice is sweet and she modulates it well. She explains lessons in simple language. Even complex concepts are taught very clearly with examples. She uses pictures, charts, maps and many other gadgets to teach. She tries to demonstrate concepts for our better understanding. She takes special care of students who get low marks. She guides even the intelligent students to do better. She notices the interests of students and guides them in those fields.

She practices yoga

She is interested in many things. She practices yoga and told us about its benefits. So we too started practicing yoga. We learnt that it makes us healthy and also increases our concentration.  She is a good shuttle badminton player. She encourages us to participate in games and sports in which we are interested. She makes the Physical Education Teacher provide us necessary material for our practice. She tells us that games build up our people skills. That means improvement in our ability to adjust with others. She says this ability is essential to progress in life.

Asks us to regularly read newspapers

She has a lot of knowledge. She tells us that we should regularly read news paper or listen to the news on TV. It makes us understand what is happening around us. It makes us think about the people in our society and what is needed to help them. She says knowing about suffering of poor people develops sympathy in us for them. Similarly knowing about the smart work of the rich people to reach that stage also inspires us to do like them. She says studying books for examinations is good but there is a lot more to learn to live as a good person in the world.

He sold his wife’s jewelry and started Infosys along with a few friends. He faced many difficulties and his friends left him. But he faced all the trouble and made the company successful in course of time. Now he is very rich. But he and his wife live a very simple life. They do a lot of social service with their money. Lal Bahadur Sastri too

Another day she told us about our ex-Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Sastri. He was living in a small village. There was no school in his village. He had to go to another village on the other bank of the river Ganges. Daily he used to swim through the river to reach his school. He followed Gandhi and participated in the independence movement. He did not have a house or a car until he became Prime Minister of India. He did not have any property when he died. When he was Prime Minister Indian farmers were not producing enough wheat for our food. He made scientists work well and produce hybrid wheat plants. So we have more than enough food now. There was war with Pakistan at that time. He made our soldiers fight bravely. He said “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” and developed both our agriculture and our defense.

Like Sivaji’s mother, our teacher tells us inspiring things like this and is helping us become not only good students but better persons in the society.
