Amravati: High tension and drama prevailed near former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s residence at Undavalli when YCP activists along with Pedana MLA Jogi Ramesh pelted stones on Friday. TDP MLA Gadde Rammohan, Budda Venkanna and TDP cadre reached the spot and clash took place between these two groups which was controlled after police used lathis.
Ayyanna Patrudu’s comments on AP CM Jagan in Guntur were the main reason for the clash. Patrudu said that Jagan imposed additional burden on common man with tax collection. He spoke in unParliamentary language. YCP MLA Jogi Ramesh demanded Patrudu to withdraw his remarks against CM and tender apology or else they will siege Naidu’s residence. He also warned that Lokesh and Naidu would be expelled from State if remarks are not withdrawn. Situation became tense as clashes erupted and police prevented YCP activists who were pushing towards Naid’s residence. YCP and TDP activists were also exchanged blows with flag sticks and some shirts were torn. Budda Venkanna and Jogi Ramesh both held hands and pushed themselves with heated arguments.
Police arrested Jogi Ramesh later and moved him to Mangalagiri PS. TDP condemned the attack and said that CM Jagan is turning Andhra Pradesh into Afghanisthan and YCP activists are behaving like goondas, calling them Taliban groups.
Jogi Ramesh met DGP and complained against Naidu for instigating goondas against him.
