Huzurabad by-poll: Campaign ends, cash flow starts

  • Five Months fiery campaign comes to an end
  • Tension among  voters and party leaders
  • Cash and liquor flow on high
  • Result may impact state political scenario

Huzurabad:  It is just 72 hours to go for Huzurabad bypoll from now on and tension in voters and party leaders is clearly visible. The campaign ended at 5 pm after EC ordered to close 3 days before the schedule of poll. All three parties campaigned in electrifying mood, but the fight looks to be between TRS and BJP  or rather between KCR and Eatala. The by-poll was necessitated after former TRS Minister Eatala Rajender resigned for party on allegation of land grabbing by his family.

The pulse of voters is different this time and looks very difficult to catch it. Both parties are concentrating on booth management and focusing on ensuring that the voters reach booths and cast vote. As  per ground reports, cash flow has started already from Wednesday with parties throwing 6k per vote. Liquor flow is witnessed like water across constituency. BJP and TRS are busy in calculating their equations and percent of winning chances.

TRS, BJP neck to neck

Situation from June when Rajender resigned to the end of campaign is different. In the first phase, people are totally tilted towards Rajender and war looked to be one-sided. But as days progressed, the gap between ruling party, TRS and rival BJP has reduced as per pollsters. Even voters are not coming out openly to tell for whom they are going to vote. It is a tough situation for pollsters to predict the result. Though few pre-poll surveys favoured BJP’s win, one can’t say for sure how the swing will be until polling day. This is one of the elections which was going on without public meeting addressed by TRS President, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Minister Harish Rao toured single handedly in the constituency with the help of a few ministers and MLAs. Will trouble shooter delivers Diwali gift to his Boss or will Dubbaka  repeats? It will be known only on November 2nd.

In Huzurabad, about 900 people have so far applied for the postal ballot. However, all parties are trying to secure all these votes. Huzurabad constituency has 2.36 lakh voters as per the by-election notification.
