BHAKTI-LOVE AMBROSIA Part XV

Enduring peace is Bhakta’s citadel,
detached psyche it’s high ramparts, Bhakti
the burning wick, virtues the fortress bells,
senses his servants and his sentinel… me.

But lo, Maya with thousand forms and names
is lurking everywhere, ready to lure
you go awry. Beware O lovely dames…
shun evil thoughts and deeds and remain pure.

But dames, don’t spurn those little, little joys
of life, with spouse, elders and kids. Savour
them all, with duteous care and sober poise,
but fruits of such karmas to me offer.

A macho’s muscles maim a maiden’s mind.
A maiden’s magic looks seduce a man.
Stares become leers, leers moor with passion braid
and passion slays the raising soul’s élan.

And money too a trap O maidens bright.
Coins earn more coins, from copper to silver,
silver to gold. This sprint brews angst and spite
and ruins your spirit’s ascent for ev’r and ev’r.

Next come atheists, who vow to rationale
but blither loud preposterous tenets
on life. But spirit’s arcane and endless tale
doesn’t fit into such narrow cabinets.

Evade this vicious trio O damsels wise
with smiles but no abhorrence please.
Endure the human wiles, riles, wrongs and lies
with love, as hate defiles your sacred leas.

In Bhakti path, no way you sacrifice
mundane comforts. But use prudence, Dharma
and tolerance in life and eschew vice
and greed to break the shackles of karma!

“O dames don’t preen at your alluring eyes,
your silky skin, bewitching body curves
and tempting smiles. Such love for earthly lies
hinders your holy cruise and wanes your verves.”
