Anushka, Virat blessed with daughter

Indian Cricket captain Virat Kohli is blessed with a daughter. Virat’s wife Anushka has delivered a female child. Both Anushka Sharma, the actress, and Virat Kohli, the cricketer, had welcomed the daughter, their first child, on Monday. The Cricket captain who came back in the middle of the Australian tour where India is playing Test matches, had made the announcement on Twitter –“We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and  baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time.”

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have been married since 2017. They announced last August that they are expecting a baby. They declared, “And then we were three. Arriving Jan 2021.” Messages congratulating the celebrity couple have been pouring in. Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Sania Mirza, Dia Mirza are among the first to greet the new parents.

Virat Kohli had obtained paternity leave from the Board of Indian Cricket to be able to be with his wife at the time of delivery. He returned to India after playing the first of the four matche series. He became father on a day when India drew a difficult match with Australia.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma dated for a long time before their wedding took place in Italy in 2017. Anushka declared as far back as 2014 that they were in love with each other. “We are two normal young people in relationship,” she simply said in a matter of fact way. While Virat Kohli is a star batsman and a successful captain of Indian Cricket team, Anushka Sharma has been a successful actor with films like PK, Dil Dhadakne Do, Sultan, Band Baaja Baarat and Ye Dil Hai Mushkil under her belt. She also produced web series and she is known to be a creative person.
