AAP wins 4 of 5 seats in Delhi byelections

New Delhi: The ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) won four of the five seats in Delhi civic body for which by elections were held. Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia said on Wednesday that it is a message for the BJP about the results of the Delhi Assembly elections in 2022. He congratulated party workers for winning the elections in Kalyanpuri, Rahini-C, Trilokpuri and Shalimar bagh. The fifth seat of Chauhan Bangar was won by the Congress. Thus the BJP scored a zero. The ruling party at the Centre which was holding one of the five seats could not retain even that.

It is a good news to the AAP which has made its debut in Gujarat elections also. After the BJP, the AAP seems to be the political party to reckon with. While the BJP scored an emphatic win in the local body elections in Gujarat and the Congress came a distant second, the AAP won 42 seats in its debut. The BJP has won 6,236 seats of the total 8,470 seats across all the municipalities and the Congress bagged 1,805 seats.
