YSRC Plenary In Vijayawada, Acid Test For Jagan
Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party will be holding its plenary in Vijayawada on July 8th and 9th on the eve of late YSRas Jayanthi. Party, which had previous plenary prior to 2014 elections at Pulivendula, is pinning hopes on this one which is coming when party is struggling to gain popularity in public.
Party is expecting nearly 13000 members from AP and Telangana who will attend the meeting with their views. The names of the party president and members of the state committees will be announced during this plenary, but before that party has a plan to hold district level review meetings in June. It wont be an easy task for Jagan to select committee members in both states. YSRCP, which lost its base in Telangana, is restricted only to Hyderabad.
In AP, this is crucial moment for YSRC President to choose perfect candidates at district level who can fight against Government and bring party into lime light. With one-third of its MLAs defected to the TDP, the party has to find capable candidates who can defeat the defectors in 2019. Jagan has to move forward in a perfect way without any blunder to keep party strong and united. He has to also take measures to counter the moves of the Enforcement Directorste (ED).
The party is gearing up for membership drive and looking to send positive signals to the people of AP about their future, particularly to farmers and youth who have been grappling with unsolved problems for three years.
Jagan has to focus on Special Category Status, which was promised by TDP and helped the party to come to power. Along with this, Vizag Railway Zone, forced land acquisition near capital city, unemployment, shenanigans of the ministers, are the factors for opposition leader to be focussed in public discourse which can be helpful in ensuring the party of bright future.
Before that, Jagan has to take precautionary measures so that no MLA from YSRC will be defected into ruling party. Leader is ready to fight along with people of AP, but who are the leaders who will join Jagan in this fight for partyas survival, will be known in coming days.
