Young Man From Sangareddy Shot In The US
Hyderabad: Unknown assailants fired at a 26-year-old man from Telangana in California on Saturday. Mubeen Ahmed who hails from Sangareddy district of Telangana was taken to a hospital nearby after he suffered injuries due to firing.
Son of an air force employee Mujeeb, Mubeen Ahmed completed B Tech in Hyderabad and went to the US in 2015 for pursuing higher studies. Besides his studies, Mubeen is working in a private store for pocket money. He was shot there.
Though the incident took place on June 4 around 6 pm, the family was informed a day later. His father, Mujib Ahmed, told Times of India “The hospital authorities have called me and said my son is in ICU and in critical condition. We require a visa to be with him.”
Mubeen Ahmed’s condition is reported to be critical and he is still unconscious.
The racial crimes against Indians in America are on rising. Earlier in May, an Indian- American doctor Ramesh Kumar was shot in Michigan, United States. The 32-year-old doctor was shot dead in the passenger seat of the car parked in a rest area 90 miles of Detroit.
In March, an Indian techie Srinivas Kuchibhotla was also shot dead after an argument with a white man in a restaurant. Another Indian- American was also killed in motel crossfire in April in Tennessee.
