Y.S. Jagan Should Have Been Made CM: Jaipal Reddy
Hyderabad: Senior Parliamentarian S Jaipal Reddy opened his mouth on Y.S. Jagan and late YSR seven years after the demise of YSR. “High Command did not recognize the image and sympathy YSR had in the hearts of Telugu people which had increased after his demise. At the same time State Congress leaders failed to recognize the importance of CM post to Jagan Mohan Reddy”, said Jaipal Reddy in a TV interview. It is no use worrying about that point now, he further added.
When questioned about the CBI cases against Jagan, he said that no comment from his side as he was in Delhi politics at that time, it is not the correct way to comment as he was not fully aware of the cases against Jagan and believed that cases are due to court interventions but not due to the Congress High Command.
After YSR’s demise there was strong demand from a group of Cong MLAs to make Jagan as CM which was rejected by Congress High Command. K Rosaiah was made the CM instead of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. There is a strong feeling among the general public that had the Congress High Command made Jagan the CM there would not have been the bifurcation of the Dyate and the Congress could have retained power in undivided Andhra Pradesh. In a way it was a historic blunder from the viewpoint of the Congress.
