World Telugu Conference To Be Held From October 22

Owing to the climate condition, the Telangana Government has postponed the World Telugu Conference to October 22.

Hyderabad: The ‘World Telugu Conference’ will be held from October 22 to 28 in Telangana. The State Government on Thursday took a decision on holding the conference in October. However, the event would be inaugurated on September 30 on the auspicious occasion of ‘Vijayadasami,’ said a press release from Chief Minister’s Office.

“The state government has decided to hold inaugural function of the first World Telugu Conference in the state on the auspicious Vijayadasami day on September 30, and the conference will be held from October 22 to 28,” the release added.

Earlier, the State Government planned to organize the conference from June 2, the State formation day, but it was postponed, as the day is not considered to be auspicious, the release stated.

The State Government’s advisor on literary affairs KV Ramanachary and his colleagues have proposed the change in dates. They requested the CM to change dates stating that the climatic conditions in October would be more conducive than in June.

“The CM has instructed them to organize the conference from October 22 to 28 and prepare an agenda (for the event),” it added.
