World Bank lauds ‘Palle Pragathi’ programme

Hyderabad: A World Bank delegation said on Thursday that the reorganization of districts and merger of DWCRA and DRDA under rural development would help the state realize its dream of golden Telangana. The team comprising South India Head Shobha Shetty, Sitaramachandra, Vinay Kumar and Balakrishna called on Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao at the Secretariat and discussed the schemes like Palle Pragathi and other welfare programmes being implemented through World Bank funds in Telangana. The minister apprised them of a plan to develop rural areas and increase job opportunities.
