Work for more Central funds, CS tells officials
Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SP Singh has directed the officials to make efforts to get more funds from the Central-sponsored schemes. At a high-level review meeting of officials of the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development and Finance, on Tuesday, the Chief Secretary discussed the implementation of Central schemes and asked them to expedite the process. “As per directive of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to procure more funds, we need to step up efforts in that direction,” he said.
The Chief Secretary instructed the officials to prepare an action plan on funds received from the Centre, matching grants by the State government and submission of utilization certificates for the funds used under various schemes. He also asked the State officials to interact with the Central officials on regular basis and get more funds that are ought to be received, including those from prestigious schemes like PMGSY, Swatcch Bharat Mission and MNREGS.
The CS reviewed the schemes like Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramina Krishi Shinchay Yojana, National Livelihood Mission, National Rural Livelihood programme, Krishi Sinchay Yojana, SSAP Rurban, Niranchal and others. The State can pursue the Centre for funds under PMSGY for rural road connectivity and MNREGS for providing employment opportunities to people. –NSS
