Withdraw Land Acquisition Ordinance: CPI
HYDERABAD: Condemning the TRS Government for issuing government order for land acquisition on the lines of Modi Government’s Land Acquisition Ordinance, CPI Telangana State Council on Wednesday demanded that Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao to withdraw the government order, immediately.
In a press note issued on Wednesday, CPI Telangana State Council secretary Chada Venkat Reddy alleged that Rao Government issued G.O.No.69 for the acquisition of land forcefully from the farmers only to get a pat from Modi Government at the time the farmers opposing the bill across the nation by staging protests and jail-bharo programs.
“The G.O. will swallow the rights of farmers”, Chada alleged. Giving exemption to the second and third chapters of 2013 Land Acquisition Act, the Ordinance will abolish the permission of Grama Sabha for land acquisition. The new G.O. will not even allow thinkingof whether there is any alternative land to give to the victims, he alleged.
Issuing the order at the time when central government was trying to take the suggestions of all parties and appointing the Parliament Joint Action Committee to take its advices is reflecting the autocratic nature of Rao, he said.
Chada warned Rao that CPI would teach him a lesson in case the latter behaves crookedly. He said that if the government tried to acquire the land of farmers and universities through this ordinance, itwould pay the way to turmoil in the state. He demanded the government to withdraw the black emergency ordinance immediately, if not, the CPI will take up huge agitations across the state, he said. (NSS)
