In case you are not sure if WhatsApp has been updated, go to the App Store or Google Play and check for available updates.
WhatsApp is now one of the largest messaging platforms with over one billion users. It added voice calling feature in early 2015.
Video calling will work on all devices with Android 4.1 and above. The rollout is happening at the same time for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices, thus covering the top mobile operating systems across the world.
The video calling feature has been kept so simple that anyone can use it without confusion. The one additional feature is the ability to multi-task by minimising the video and using other apps on the phone. User will be able to return to the call by tapping on the green band that appears across apps.
At the moment the video calling feature can be used synchronously between two users and not to whole groups.
