Be Wary Of Opposition Designs, Pleads AP CM

Chandrababu Naidu asserts he will do justice to every poor person in the State, irrespective of their caste, obviously referring to ongoing turmoil related to reservations for Kapus.

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked people to be wary of the Opposition, which, he said, was raising passions among the people of Andhra Pradesh.

“I will do justice to every poor person in the State, irrespective of caste. I have promised reservations to Kapus and appointed Manjunadha Committee to look into the issue,” he pointed out, while addressing a meeting after distributing land pattas at Pragati Maidan within Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Wednesday.

The TDP chief was critical of Congress for failing to deliver on its promise of providing reservations for Kapus. Although Congress had promised such reservations in 2004, the then Congress Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy did nothing about it, despite his return to power for the second time in 2009. He appealed to people to give a fitting lesson to parties, which were now raising passions along caste lines.

Citing the Tuni incident in which a train was burnt down earlier, the Chief Minister maintained that it was an example of designs of the Opposition.

Stern Action Against Land Grabbers

Chandrababu Naidu told the gathering that he would strive to provide a house for every poor family in the State. “I will make your dream come true,” he assured. As many as 51,191 beneficiaries had received pattas for land worth Rs 8,400 crore in two phases earlier, while 21,225 beneficiaries did so in the current phase, involving land worth Rs 3,606 crore.

The Chief Minister assured people that he would resolve the land registration issue of pancha gramas (five villages) at the earliest. Referring to the recent land scam, he stated that no one will be spared and stern action taken against culprits.
