Venkaiah, Dattatraya console cops in Kamineni hospital
HYDERABAD: Union minister for urban development M Venkaiah Naidu today visited Kamineni hospital and enquired about the health condition of two cops, who sustained bullet injuries in an encounter with ultras in Nalgonda district.
It may be mentioned here that one circle inspector and a sub-inspector, who suffered bullet injuries in an encounter, were shifted to Kamineni hospital here.
Along with Venkaiah Naidu, his cabinet colleague Bandaru Dattatreya and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy also visited the hospital. Condoling the death of constable Nagraju, they said the condition of SI Siddiah remained is critical and he was kept under observation for 72 hours.
Venkaiah said the Centre would extend all possible help to the family members of the slain cops. Both Telugu States should work in coordination and if necessary, the Centre would get the incident investigated by the NIA.
Kishan Reddy bemoaned that police personnel were becoming victims due to lack of modern weapons. Stating that constable Nagaraju lost his life as he was in possession of an ordinary weapon, he said the vulnerable police personnel should be equipped with modern weapons. (NSS)
