Uttam Kumar Reddy unhappy Jana’s jibe
HYDERABAD: Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy invited criticism from within for advising his party MLA Sampath Kumar to tender an apology for disrupting the Governor’s address to the joint session of the Legislature on Saturday.
Telangana Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy is learnt to have expressed unhappiness at Mr. Jana Reddy for pressing Mr. Sampath Kumar to give an apology. Being the main opposition party, the Congress should have played a role in putting the ruling TRS in a fix, he is reported to have told the CLP leader.
The Opposition should not take a soft corner for the TRS and instead target the government on its failures. The CLP leader had taken the stand that whoever showed disrespect for the national anthem should apologise and Mr. Sampath was one of them. This comment led to discontent among the congress members who openly found fault with Jana Reddy. (NSS)
