UNSW offers scholarships for Indians
Hyderabad: University of New South Wales (UNSW) of Australia is coming up with a unique scholarship programme to help Indian students pursue higher education at 50 world class universities abroad.
In a statement, UNSW President and Vice Chancellor Prof Ian Jacobs announced a new model scholarship programme. He said that 10 lucky students will receive $10,000 each and one student will have full tuition fee paid. The programme is exclusively for Indians staying in India, he said
Prof Jacobs said that the programme is to strengthen education, research and knowledge exchange with India. He also said that they have started Diya (light) initiative which aims to educate one lakh Indian students over next 10 years through online and blended classroom teaching. It also launched Masters Degree in public health in India in collaboration with Apollo Hospital and Medvarsity.
He said both Indian and Sri Lankan students can apply for undergraduate scholarships with the UNSW Business School. Interested students need to send a video along with their application by May 30 this year. -NSS
