United AP Govt Used Nayeem
- Belli Lalitha’s brother comes back
Hyderabad: Belli Krishna, brother of the slain rights activist Belli Lalitha, had returned to his native place after living underground for nearly 16 years for fear of being killed by the notorious gangster Nayeemuddin. Belli Lalitha of Bhongir in Nalgonda district was brutally killed by Alimuddin, younger brother of Nayeemuddin, in 1999. Fearing that the gang would kill him also, Krishna went underground in the latter half of 2000.
On his return, Belli Krishna alleged that that the then government of Andhra Pradesh was hell bent upon eliminating people who raised the demand of a separate Telangana State. The erstwhile united AP government had targeted all people and organizations that worked for a separate State. He charged that the government used a renegade like Nayeemuddin to neutralize his sister who was fighting for the rights of the people of Telangana and the downtrodden.
Krishna claimed he went underground as a precaution and not out of fear of being killed by the gang. He alleged that the TDP MLA from LB Nagar R Krishnaiah praised Alimuddin who killed Lalitha and the MLA did not behave like a representative of people. He disclosed that while he was living in Delhi incognito, he tried to come back to the State and met Jana Reddy, then a minister in the Congress government. But, he said, Jana Reddy advised him to stay back in Delhi.
