Uddanam Kidney Disorders: Pawan Kalyan Ropes In Harvard University Doctors
Srikakulam: A team of medical doctors of the Harvard University from the US will be visiting Uddanam region of the district on July 29 to find out reasons for high incidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the area. The team agreed to tour the area at the request of actor and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan.
It may be recalled that Pawan Kalyan sought the help of medical experts of the university when he visited the US in February this year. Earlier in January, while interacting with those affected at Itchapuram, he demanded that the State government allocate 100 crore to provide immediate relief to the patients and appoint a committee to go into the reasons for the disease. Subsequently, the State government announced a financial help of Rs 2500 for each dialysis patient.
Pawan Kalyan will be in Visakhapatnam on July 30 and will lead a rally to create awareness about kidney diseases among the people. Later in the evening, he will interact with the Harvard University doctors’ team and students at a private convention hall at Potinamallayya Palem.
