Two more LED bulbs to SC/ST families in AP

Vijayawada: The AP government is distributing two additional LED bulbs to SC/ST families at a subsidized price of Rs 10 per bulb as against the market price of Rs 200-300 per bulb.

The power utilities have begun distributing two more LED bulbs to the SC and ST  BPL domestic consumers under a special scheme. Around 24 lakh LED bulbs will be distributed across the state.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who held a teleconference with officials to review the scheme on Friday stressed the need for quick implementation of the scheme and directed the power utilities to take all measures to make AP as incandescent-free state. He reiterated that elimination of poverty and uplift of SC&ST communities is the utmost priority of his administration.  Various schemes like lying of roads, energizing colonies and supply of irrigation pump sets, construction of welfare hostels and so on are under effective implementation in the state under AP Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) Act 2013.
