The daring robbery attempt on outskirts of Hyderabad turned a dud when an alert employee hit the alarm.

Hyderabad: Police have finally succeeded in arresting two people in the failed Muthoot Finance robbery at Mailardevpally on outskirts of the State Capital on July 14, 2017.

A special team of the Cyberabad Police arrested the two on Friday from Osmanabad in Maharashtra.

According to reports, police, who have been working on various leads, had recovered from the abandoned Tavera vehicle a cover on which Veer Savarkar Chowk, Osmanabad, was imprinted. Based on CCTV footages, the Tavera, which was used in the attempted heist, was traced to My Homes Housing Palace housing complex at Attapur, Rajendranagar, on the very day of the robbery.

Senior officials have told a media outlet that they were questioning the arrested duo for details of the gang involved in the attempted robbery. They expressed confidence that the robbers will be caught soon.

Images of four of them have been captured on the CCTV at the Mailardevpally Muthoot Finance. The fifth involved was the driver of the getaway vehicle that was waiting outside.

It may be recalled that the four had tried to rob the Muthoot Finance branch at Mailardevpally on July 14.  They threatened the employees with a knife and revolvers in a bid to rob the office. However, an alert employee hit the alarm. Robbers were forced to flee empty handed as a result.
