Tummala, Kadiam T ‘ betrayers ’: Shabbir
HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress leader Mohd Ali Shabbir has dubbed Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari as betrayers of Telangana.
Talking to mediapersons here on Monday after submitting a memorandum to State Human Rights Commission against the “attack” on TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah during the Congress padyatara on February 7, Mr. Shabbir Ali criticized Mr. Nageshwara Rao for questioning the motives of the padayatra.
Stating that Mr. Rao had opposed statehood to Telangana on behalf of TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Congress leader slammed the Minister for not participating in Telangana agitation.
Dubbing both the TRS leaders as opportunists for having joined the TRS for political gains, Mr. Ali said they had no moral right to criticize the Congress, whose chief Sonia Gandhi had accorded statehood to Telangana.
Subsequently, the SHRC has directed the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to probe into the matter through an Additional DGP and submit a report by February 23. (NSS)
