TTD waives service charges on e-transactions
Tirupati: TTD Executive officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao says there will be no additional charges on all cashless (online) transactions till December 31 for the benefit of devotees to Tirumala and Tirupati.
After a review meeting with all bankers at the TTD administrative block in Tirupati on Tuesday, the TTD EO urged the bankers to ensure that the devotees did not suffer any inconvenience in the wake of the demonetization. He said the banks will not add any additional charges for online services made at either Tirupati or Tirumala for booking rooms, purchase of Srivari dollars, laddu prasadam, publications, diaries and calendars. The devotees would have choice to use credit or debit cards, Rupay cards, besides internet banking. He also appealed to the bankers to facilitate the devotees with small denomination notes and coins collected in the hundi as per availability.
Dr Sambasiva Rao said there would be no additional service charges for donors for the e-hundi or e-donations. The TTD has decided to bear the cost of service charges of the donors for the TTD trusts and other schemes to facilitate the devotees. – NSS
