TTD to develop pilgrim-friendly mobile app
Tirumala: The IT wing of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and a Tata Consultancy Services team have been asked to develop a pilgrim-friendly mobile app to facilitate easy booking of rooms, darshan, laddu prasadam and to make e-donations, according to TTD Executive Officer D Sambasiva Rao.
He said, already those who have internet facility on their mobiles are opting for booking Rs.300 tickets. “Interestingly so far over 30% of pilgrims have already booked Rs.300 tickets through mobile compatibility. This should reach wider range of pilgrim public. Very soon we will launch a mobile app for the sake of pilgrims”, he added.
Meanwhile, Sambasiva Rao has instructed the heads of various departments to gear up for the annual Rathasapthami event. During the weekly review meeting on Tuesday, the EO instructed the HoDs to come out with an action plan to serve the pilgrims on the big day with more efficiency in their areas of work.
He instructed the Health Officer Sermista to negotiate with corporation and other private agencies which are using electrical crematoria to solve the issue of unidentified deceased persons in Tirumala and directed Chief Medical Officer N Vikas to maintain a record of Medicare extended to the pilgrim patients in Tirumala. -NSS
