TS Speaker wants to consult all
- To decide on allowing TDP MLAs back into House
- Suspended TDP MLAs demonstrate, protest
- Demand action against Srinivasa Yadav
HYDERABAD: Seeking immediate steps to disqualify Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav for violating the norms, the suspended Telugu Desam members today staged a protest at Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary’s chambers in the Assembly Lobbies. They continued their stir for a few hours and exerted pressure on the speaker to disqualify the minister who resigned from the TDP some time ago.
Later, the speaker said that there was no consensus on the issue. The delay was due to lack of single opinion among other parties. ‘I will soon contact other parties to take a final call’, chary stated. The speaker asked them to withdraw the stir as the ruling party will discuss the issue with other parties for a final decision.
Earlier, the TD members wanted that the speaker should disqualify the minister or take an appropriate action. Reacting on this, the Legislature Affairs Minister T Harish Rao said that the ruling party is not afraid of the TDP protest. It is not good to stage a protest at the speaker’s chamber, he said. The speaker has to take a decision in this regard, Harish said.
In a related development at the Assembly Lobbies, TD deputy floor leader Revanth Reddy alleged that the speaker failed to take a decision for political reasons. He sought to know why the speaker failed to take action when Srinivas Yadav resigned from the TDP which sought his disqualification. He also found fault with the ruling party for its inability to take a decision. ‘Though we have urged Governor ESL Narasimhan to intervene and take action in this regard, there was no use’, he bemoaned. The Speaker has to take immediate action agaisnt Srinivas Yadav who is not an MLA, Revanth said. (NSS)
