Trivendra Rawat Takes Oath As Uttarakhand CM
Dehradun: Trivendra Singh Rawat has taken oath as chief minister of Uttarakhand at 3.00 pm on Saturday. Nine ministers were also sworn-in. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ceremony. BJP president Amit Shah, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Uma Bharati, Nadda and many other important BJP leaders were present.
Satpal Maharaj, Prakash Pant, Madan Kaushik ( who defeated outgoing chief minister, Harish Rawat in Haridwar), Yashpal Arya, Rekha Arya, Hara Singh Rawat were the new ministers.
Harak Singh Rawat was a minister in the Congress Cabinet headed by Harish Rawat. Satpal Maharaj is a spiritual guru and has lakhs of followers. Rekha Arya who left the Congress and joined the BJP last year was sworn-in as Minister of State. Dharna Singh Rawat was another minister who was administered the oath. Yashpal Arya left Congress in January and joined the BJP was made a minister. Arvind Pandey, Subodh Uniyal also took the oath.
Half of the ministers who took oath on Saturday here were members of Harish Rawat Cabinet last year.
